Teenage West Brom striker Roberts joins Walsall on loan

Walsall bring in young striker Tyler Roberts from West Brom on loan until January, becoming the Saddlers’ seventh signing of the summer.

have bolstered their attacking options this afternoon with the loan signing of striker Tyler Roberts, who joins until January.

The Wales youth international has previously had loan spells at United and , scoring three goals in 13 appearances for the latter last season. He is boss ‘s seventh signing of the summer.

Whitney told Saddlers TV that he’d been tracking Roberts for some time: “He’s been one of our key targets through the whole of the summer but because he’s done so well West Brom have kept him in their first team.

“He’s proven he can score goals at this level and I feel, when we targeted and profiled him, we really think he can tie in to what we do and we can improve together. He’ll be a very important member of our squad and he’s a tremendous prospect.”

Roberts said: “I feel confident coming in to the club and hopefully I can improve on last season and get more goals.

“I spoke to the gaffer and he said obviously there’s things I can improve and things I’m good at. We-re going to get down to work on them – this is a good opportunity to do that.”
