QPR midfielder Massimo Luongo has penned a new deal to stay with the Championship club until 2020.
The Australian international has become a fans' favourite at Loftus Road since joining from Swindon Town in 2015, becoming a first-team regular this season under former manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Ian Holloway.
The 24-year-old had 18 months remaining on his previous deal and explained how he hoped his career would take the desired path by committing to the R's.
“It was a big decision for me, but the right decision,” Luongo told the club's official website.
“The next few years will be really important in my career, and hopefully I can build on the progress I feel I've already made with QPR.
“I'm really enjoying my football here and the fans seem to have taken to me as one of their own, so I couldn't be more delighted.”
Luongo has made 59 appearances in all for the Hoops but is yet to have much to celebrate, finishing mid-table in his first season with the club.
Now in his second, Rangers lie 19th in the Championship with the play-offs a distant reality and only five points separating them from the relegation zone.
