boss Rob Page is not getting carried away, despite his side’s impressive start to the campaign.

The Cobblers, promoted as champions of last season, beat 4-0 at the weekend and climbed to fifth in the table.

They are now just four points off , the league leaders, and three points off who are second.

It is the highest position Northampton have held in the League since 1998, but with League One being as tight as it is, Page is refusing to get carried away.

He told the Northampton Chronicle: “”We haven’t been in this position for a very long time, but we are not getting carried away with things.

“The league is so tight at the minute and it is about us maintaining our standards and keeping the consistency going.”

Despite their lofty position in the , the Cobblers are still just three points ahead of tonight’s opponents , who are languishing in 17th.

And after Northampton’s unbeaten run was ended in their last away game at , when they went down 3-1, Page knows how things can turn so quickly in the third tier.

He said: “We are on a good little run at the minute, and it is about keeping that going.

“I am expecting a tough game. Whenever I have played against a Swindon team they get the ball down and play, so it will be a different game to Saturday in that respect.

“I will be asking the lads to maybe make that little change in their mentality, but we are still going there to win the game.”
