Shakers snap up James Vaughan

The striker, who, at 16 years and 271 days, became the youngest ever Premier League goalscorer while playing at boyhood club , has signed a two-year deal with the .

Vaughan spent spells at , Norwich, Palace and Leicester during his career, before joining Birmingham at the end of 2015, initially on a sixth-month loan from .

The 28-year old made 15 appearances while on loan at Gary 's side, but never truly settled in the Midlands and despite making the deal permanent at the end of the season, when his Terriers deal expired, Vaughan will now move to Bury for a fresh start.

 

He said: “I had a good chat with the Chairman and manager for a couple hours, listened to what they had to say and wanted to be part of the project they've got going on here”.

Vaughan, who also attracted interest from side , will go straight into Bury's squad for the match against Walsall at the weekend.
