McLeish set for role at Egyptian club

Former manager Alex McLeish is set to become the manager of Egyptian side Zamalek.

The Scot, who has also managed and Aston , has held talks with the reigning Champions of Egyptian , according to Zamalek's chairman Mortada Mansour.

McLeish, 57, has been out of work since resigning as manager of Belgian top flight club KRC Genk at the end of the 2014/15 season.

A statement released on Zamalek's website confirmed the appointment the former Scotland national team boss.

“Murtaza Mansour, chairman of the club, has confirmed that Alex McLeish has signed with him in principle to lead the first team,” the statement said.
