Brentford head coach Thomas Frank wins Manager of the Month after overseeing an unbeaten run over December.
The Bees have continued their good form throughout December – winning five and drawing three games. Brentford’s good form has been noted with head coach Thomas Frank picked up the Manager of the Month award, and Spanish midfielder Sergi Canos receiving a nomination for December’s player of month.
Frank was selected over Daniel Farke, of Norwich City, Valerien Ismael, of Barnsley, and Alex Neil, of Preston North End.
The Bees picked up 18 points during December, and scored 16 goals and conceded eight. They defeated two fellow promotion rivals in Reading and Bournemouth at home. They also showcased superb away form with wins over Rotherham United, Nottingham Forest and Cardiff.
Their form over December saw Brentford surge into second in the Championship standings.
Frank has shared the accolade with his team as he believes that winning the award is not possible without contributions from all his staff and playing squad.
Frank said: “This award is one for the team. No Manager or Head Coach will win an award like this without a great team of staff and players going in the same direction. I think that is my job, to ensure everyone is pulling together, and I am delighted that, as a team, we have won this award.
“We played nine games in December and were unbeaten. That is a fantastic achievement. Across the whole of Europe, no team has played more games than Brentford this season. It takes a big effort from everyone to continue to perform to such a high level and everyone should be really proud.”
