Championship side Bristol City have strengthened their back line with the signing of defender Tomas Kalas on loan from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old, who joined Chelsea in 2010, has spent a number of loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, representing the likes of Vitesse, FC Koln and Middlesbrough.
The Czech Republic international spent the last two seasons on loan at Cheslea's West London rivals Fulham and played an important role in the Cottagers march to promotion to the Premier League last season.
Speaking to the club's official website, Bristol Head Coach Lee Johnson said, “Tomas' signing shows the ambition that Bristol City have because there was a lot of interest and we beat a number of Championship and top European clubs to get him.
“The experience Tomas brings to this football club will be invaluable and I am really looking forward to working with him.
“He has already proven himself at Championship level and I have no doubts that he can help us in our bid to reach new heights.”
