Neil Warnock is routinely written off as a dinosaur, a fact he wryly acknowledged by posing with a Tyrannosaurus fossil.
Yet in one sense, the 74-year-old has evolved into a thoroughly modern manager. Speaking to the BBC last month, Warnock was asked if he had any interest in returning to Cardiff City.
“No, I’m retired,” he said. “And when I do work, I only work March and April. It’s too early for me now. I only come back for the last 12 or 15 games.”
