Liam Delap’s loan move from Man City to Stoke looked like the biggest transfer coup of the summer.
Prolific for City’s youth ranks and already blooded by Pep Guardiola, the big striker was pursued by practically every club in the Championship before the Potters - aided by the presence of Delap’s father Rory on the coaching staff - sealed the deal.
