Flinging abuse at opposition players or supporters is part of the game and, within reason, a lot of fun.
There’s nothing wrong with attempting to put an influential player off his game, or exchanging insults with the away end.
But the shameful chanting at the Peterborough v Cambridge and Plymouth v Exeter games last weekend had nothing to do with banter or gamesmanship. It was just moronic.
At London Road, a small group of Posh supporters were heard singing about Simon Dobbin, a Cambridge fan who suffered permanent brain damage after being attacked...
