REFEREES often favour the path of least resistance, so all credit to James Linington for his bold decision to show a double red card last weekend.
The incident in question saw Gillingham striker Charlie Kelman launch into a 50-50 with Fleetwood’s Paddy Lane.
Kelman rolled and writhed. Lane eventually needed a stretcher. Both players, though, were off the deck and out of control. Linington recognised that, and sent them packing.
