FOR EFL clubs, Christmas is gravy. Cash raked in now can tide many lower league clubs through the fallow summer months, so any sort of shutdown would represent a financial catastrophe.
But what to do? So transmissible is the Omicron variant that - vaccines aside - any preventative measure seems doomed.
