Quite how fit Yousef Salech will be after more than two months out with neck injury is open to debate, but there’s no doubt Cardiff have missed him.
It is no coincidence whatsoever that the Bluebirds have won just six of the 12 games Salech has missed, nor that their goal threat has almost completely dried up.
The Dane has scored 12 times, but of far greater relevance is the physical presence his 6ft 5ins frame provides up top.
Without him, or a replacement of his like, Cardiff have looked one-dimensional and predictable going forward.
