SIMON Grayson knew that Bangalore would be a bit different the moment he stepped out of the airport and saw the city’s teeming streets.
“The noise, the number of people. The traffic. It was beyond belief,” recalls the former Preston, Sunderland and Blackpool boss, who joined Indian Super League side Bengaluru in June, eight months after leaving Fleetwood. “To this day, I still find it incredible.” Home to almost 12 million people, Bangalore - known as Bengaluru since 2014 - is the third largest city in India and ranks 27th worldwide in terms of population.
