Harry Kewell distances himself from Charlton rumours

Whilst speaking to reporters following the 3-2 defeat to Wycombe last night, Crawley boss Harry Kewell appeared to pour cold water on rumors linking him with the vacant managerial post at League One side Charlton.

The Addicks are believed to be in the final stages of a protracted takeover, with one of the interested parties thought to be an Australian consortium. Reports earlier in the week suggested that the Australian consortium were interested in bringing their fellow countryman to manage at the Valley.

However when asked about a possible move to Charlton, Kewell told the Crawley Observer “What makes me laugh is just the fact an Australian consortium goes and buys a club you automatically think they are going to take an Australian.

“What do you want me to say? I worry about Crawley and that’s it.”

The 39-year-old continued, “What makes me laugh is just the fact an Australian consortium goes and buys a club you automatically think they are going to take an Australian. What do you want me to say? I worry about Crawley and that’s it.”
