Football League and Betting

The Football League that today known as The English Football League (EFL) was arranged in 1888. It remained the top-level football league until the formation of the Premier League by a range of the best clubs in 1992. Betting on different events in the ELF is extremely popular today and it is also easily accessible thanks to lots of bookmakers operating online.

EFL’s Leagues

EFL includes seventy-two football clubs with professional English and Welsh players. The clubs are divided into the following three divisions:

The Championship

The Championship is the EFL’s highest division, where the winning clubs receive the trophy and get the right to join the Premier League, which is the top level of the football pyramid. The lowest teams join League One.

League One

It is the next division and the third level in the UK’s football league system. Each club plays with every other club two times (home and away). Winners are awarded three points; one point is given for a draw, and a loss results in zero points.

League Two

It is the lowest division of the EFL. It also has 24 clubs, and points are given in the same way as in League One. The winners are promoted to the next level, League One, and those that have lost in League Two join the National League.

EFL and Betting

Football is one of the most popular kinds of sports for betting, and its attractiveness has increased dramatically over past several years thanks to the availability of different online bookmakers.

All you need to start betting on football online is just to learn some basics about betting odds, where you can place your bets, how much you should bet, and where you can find useful tips that can help you to choose the winning outcome of a game.

There are different types of football odds exciting in the world, and fractional odds (2/1, 6/4, 9/2) are the most popular in the UK. Your profit (if you win) will be calculated based according to the following formula:

Profit=(Stake/Denominator)*Numerator;

So, for instance, you have 6/4 odds on а the certain event. In this case, 6 is the numerator, and 4 is the denominator.  So, if you place in bet £10 and your prediction is correct, you will get the profit in the following amount:

Profit=(£10/4)*6=£15.

Of course, it is important to make the right prediction of the game outcome using tips, your intuition, etc., but you also want to find the best odds. Thanks to the Internet, it is easy to check out top bookmakers from the comforts of your home to choose where you should place your bet.

It is easy to follow the results of any game. For instance, if you place your bet on the Championship, you can check championship live scores without any problems.

How to Bet Wisely

It is a thrilling experience to bet on football and win, but it is important to bet wisely. First of all, you should not bet too much, and that is why it is essential to keep in mind the following two matters:

  • Place in bet only the amount of money that you can afford to lose;
  • Do not try to chase your losses by increasing your bets.

Also, it is recommended to check on the recommendations of tipsters, people who have skills and knowledge to predict the likelihood of a certain game outcome. You may not listen to their pieces of advice blindly, but this can give you some important information.
