Wolves midfielder Jack Price signs new contract with Santo’s side

Wolves midfielder Jack Price signed a new contract with the Championship table-toppers last night, extending a stay at Molineux that started at the age of seven.

The 24-year-old has now put pen to paper on an 18-month contract extension with the option for a further year, potentially securing his future until the summer of 2020.

His current deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but Nuno Espirito Santo has now ensured the midfielder will remain at the club for the time being.

Having spent his whole career at Molineux, Price first emerged as a first-team regular during the club’s triumphant League One winning campaign in 2013-14.

He has since gone on to make 107 appearances and score two goals for the club, while he spent time on loan at Yeovil and Leyton Orient during the 2014-15 season.

Price was delighted to resolve his future, telling the club’s official website: “Obviously it plays on your mind when your contract’s up in the summer and obviously I wanted to stay here and play my football [at] this club.

“I’ve been here since I was seven, the club means a lot to me. It’s my second home really, I’ve been here that long.

“Me and my family, we love the club now – I really love this club. I didn’t want it to end and I’m so glad I’ve got another couple of years here.

“When you aren’t starting every week you could say is it my time to go? Obviously I’ve done things right in pre-season and I’ve given the manager enough to think about to keep me in the squad.

“I’ve always wanted to stay here. I’ve been here that long that it’s important for me to still be around this place. You can see the club [is] going places and I don’t want to leave.”
