Free agent ‘keeper Martin signs for Millwall

Long-time MK Dons goalkeeper David Martin signs for Millwall on a short-term contract.

has provided added competition for his goalkeepers today with the signing of free agent ‘keeper David Martin.

The former shot-stopper signs until January on a short-term contract and will work alongside fellow ‘keepers Jordan Archer and Tom King.

The 31-year-old made more than 300 appearances in a seven year spell with the , following four years at that were mostly spent on loan at the likes of , and .

His career began with in 2003, and he transitioned to MK Dons when the team moved to Milton Keynes. However, his first spell with the Dons was cut short when he made the move to Merseyside in 2006.

Martin joins fellow summer recruits like Conor McLaughlin, Ryan Tunnicliffe, James Meredith and Jed Wallace, as Neil Harris’s side look to stay in the division in their first season back in the since 2015.

The Lions currently sit 17th in the table after five games, registering one win, two draws and two losses. Their first win came last time out when they thumped Norwich 4-0 at The Den.
