Villa swoop for Mile Jedinak

have completed the signing of midfielder Mile Jedinak for a fee in the region of £4million.

The Australian international, who has represented his country 64 times and been captain since 2014, signs a three-year deal at the Midlands club and becomes their sixth signing of the summer.

Jedinak will add some much needed steel to a midfield that lacks experience and depth, and will be raring to go after finding his route to first team blocked at Crystal Palace by Yohan Cabaye.

The 32-year-old joined Palace in 2011 after leaving Turkish side Gençlerbirliği, quickly becoming a fans favourite and captain of the side. He made 165 appearances for the South London side, scoring 10 goals and leading them to promotion via the .

He passed his medical on Tuesday and watched the Villans draw 1-1 against , but won’t be available for Saturday’s clash against .

The club’s official website said: “The player will not be available for selection until and registration is complete, which is subject to the issuance of the relevant UK Visa and Immigration documents.”
