Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw hands in transfer request

Welsh international hands in request as Barnsley and Rotherham duel for his signature, and Bristol City renew their interest

HIGHLY-RATED Tom Bradshaw looks set to leave side after handing in a written transfer request.

The 23-year-old has scored 40 goals in 87 games since joining the from in June 2014.

The striker made his Wales debut in the friendly against Ukraine back in March but wasn’t fit enough to make it into the squad.

Bradshaw has been linked with moves to a number of clubs and reportedly had a bid turned down in January.

The forward signed a new two-year deal at the Banks’s Stadium 12 months ago but he has now outlined his desire to leave with a number of clubs showing interest.

A Walsall statement read: “Tom has made his desire to leave abundantly clear rejecting any offer of a new contract, which expires in June 2017, stating that he seeks Championship in order to enhance his International career.

“Whilst the club is disappointed with Tom’s stance given that it has played an instrumental part in his development, which has culminated in him achieving full Welsh honours during his time here, the club have reluctantly accepted his request but have reiterated to Tom and his representatives that no player will leave Walsall FC unless the club’s valuation is met.”
