Sheffield Wednesday’s Marco Matias won the Football League Goal of the Year Award last night for his stunning strike against Leeds in August.
The 26-year-old flicked the ball over the defender’s head with his right foot before rifling an effort into the top corner with his left foot from the edge of the area.
Upon receiving his award, Matias told reporters: “I am very proud and want to thank Sheffield Wednesday, the supporters, my family and everybody in the room tonight for voting for me.
Should Matias have won the award or was there a better contender?
