DAVID Flitcroft forged a career as one of the EFL’s most dependable midfielders. The 52-year-old made over 500 career appearances for the likes of Preston, Chester, Rochdale and Bury before embarking on a successful coaching career, initially as assistant to his great friend Keith Hill before striking out alone at Barnsley, Bury, Swindon and Mansfield.
