RELEGATION HAS HAD SILVER LINING FOR BUOYANT BLUEBIRDS

I’D never ascribe to the idea that relegations are positive - but in Cardiff’s case, I’m willing to make an exception.
The Bluebirds spent years treading water in the Championship. They were never really building for the future. They were just surviving, hoping that there’d be three worse teams. If they’d avoided relegation last season, I think it would have just been another 12 months of the same thing.
Dropping into League One has forced them to rebuild, and allowed a young squad to find its feet at a less demanding level.
