WHEN Philippe Clement took charge at Norwich last week, the reaction in his native Belgium was one of disbelief.
A comment piece in Flemish daily newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen was headlined “Why, oh why?”
The 51-year-old is arguably Belgium’s most high-profile manager. At Club Brugge, he oversaw four group stage appearances in the Champions League. At Monaco and then Rangers, he had reached the knockout stages of the Europa League in each of the last four seasons.
