Accrington Stanley beat Oldham Athletic to complete Carabao Cup first-round draw

Accrington Stanley eased to a 3-1 win over Oldham Athletic in the preliminary round of the Carabao Cup.

The Reds scored all three goals in the opening period to secure a first-round tie at home to next week.

Stanley opened the scoring after 10 minutes when Kelsey Mooney crossed from the right and 18-year-old Anjola Popoola fired home at the far post.

But Stanley held on in this season’s additional round, added due to the number of teams involved in European competition.
