Match Preview: Burton Albion v Cheltenham Town (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Cheltenham Town make the journey to the Pirelli Stadium to play Burton Albion on late Tuesday looking to pick up points to end their four-game losing streak.

Cheltenham’s struggles have left them with just four points from their last six League One matches, while their opponents have earned the same number from a possible 18.

Cheltenham are 22nd in the table after 42 games, of which they have won 10 and drawn eight, earning 38 points.

Burton are two places ahead of Town in 20th, with 11 wins and 10 draws putting them on 43 points.

In the last five years, Burton and Cheltenham have played each other on five occasions. Burton won one of them and they drew the other.

On average, the Brewers scored 0.6 goals and the Robins 0.4 in those matches.

Their last meeting was on March 2, when they played out a 0-0 draw.

With 35 goals in 43 games so far this season, Albion are the league’s joint-third-lowest scorers with 0.8 goals per game. And they are conceding more than average, letting in 60 goals at a rate of 1.4 per game.

The Robins are also below average scorers, with 0.8 goals per game, compared to a league average of 1.3. They have conceded 1.4 goals per game.

Burton’s last match was on Saturday, a 2-1 win against Stevenage, with Mark Helm and Thomas Hamer getting the goals for the Brewers.

Cheltenham lost 3-1 against Bristol Rovers last time out, also on Saturday, with Liam Sercombe on the scoresheet.
