Foxes strike

Leicester triumph and rivals falter…

Delighted Leicester boss Enzo Maresca paid tribute to his side’s character after they regained control of the race for automatic promotion.

Stephy Mavididi’s 87th-minute header earned the Foxes – whose financial affairs have come under scrutiny by both the Premier League and EFL – a 2-1 win against struggling Birmingham and saw them return to the top of the table.

Meanwhile, rivals Ipswich and Leeds both lost. The Tractor Boys went down 1-0 in their derby at Norwich, while Leeds slumped 2-1 at Coventry.

“I just told the players I’m very happy, especially for the way we came through,” said Maresca.
