Hurst’s heroes show way as EFL revels in cup glory

Paul Hurst said he wanted a blindfold. Paul Heckingbottom, watching from the gods at Bramall Lane, needed binoculars.
Whatever your vantage point, it was a glorious week in the FA Cup as giant-killings galore sent a quartet of EFL sides through to the quarter- finals.
Struggling Southampton had originally warned Grimsby’s 4,000 travelling fans that inflatable Harry Haddock mascots would be confiscated at the turnstiles. In the event, Saints relented - and they were also left red-faced on the pitch.
