Darren Ferguson’s inevitable return to Peterborough has sparked all manner of memes and wry missives.
A friend of mine pointed out that the Scot has now been appointed by the Posh on the 4th, 12th, 20th and 26th of January, which equates to 12.5 per cent of all the dates in January. For Ferguson, it’s always a happy new year.
Ignore the novelty of the situation, however, and his appointment makes a lot of sense. Were Peterborough to launch a conventional recruitment process, consider the criteria they would seek.
