ASHTON’S HOPEFUL OF GLORY

CHIEF executive officer Mark Ashton remains confident Ipswich can be in the promotion shake-up.
Manager Paul Cook was sacked in the wake of their goalless FA Cup draw at home to Barrow and with the club 11th in the table.
John McGreal has taken caretaker charge and Ashton said: “The feeling is, 100 per cent, this season is not dead.
“We are seven points outside the play-offs with a lot of games to go, we are heading into a transfer window and when you take that all into consideration, now was the time to make that decision.”
