DOUBLE: Carlisle’s Jon Mellish

ON-SONG Jon Mellish struck twice as Carlisle ended leaders Newport’s five-match winning streak with an entertaining 3-2 win at Brunton Park.
Lewis Alessandra’s penalty gave the Cumbrians a first-half lead and they looked to be cruising when Mellish struck two fine goals in the second period to make it eight goals in all competi- tions this term.
