League One high flyers Coventry City have signed defender Martin Lorentzson on a deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old made over 120 appearances for Swedish club AIK and has been capped once by the Sweden national team.
Lorentzson was without a club after leaving Atvidabergs in the summer and has been training with the Sky Blues for a number of weeks.
Coventry manager Tony Mowbray told the club’s official website, “Martin joined the club on trial a few weeks ago and he has impressed us during his time at the club.
“He played in an Under-21s game against Sheffield United where I thought he showed the attributes needed to defend in League One.
“He’ll give us another option in defence and will add plenty of pedrigree and experience to the squad until the end of the season.”
Coventry are currently sitting in second place in League One, two points behind Nigel Clough’s Burton.
