Jack Clarke joins Stoke City on loan

The former Leeds winger could make his debut as early as this weekend at Ewood Park

Tottenham Hotspur winger Jack Clarke has joined the Potters on a loan which will run until the end of this season.

The former Leeds starlet has returned to the Championship for the rest of the season after finding minutes hard to come by at Tottenham Hotspur.

Stoke Boss Michael O’Neill believes the 20 year old winger will be a useful addition to his side.

“Jack is an exciting young wide player who will bring an added dimension to our resources for the remainder of the season.” Said O’Neill.

Clarke is Stoke’s third consecutive loan signing this January following Schalke winger Rabbi Matondo and Sheffield United left back Rhys Norrington-Davies. The trio are all in contention to make their debuts this weekend against Blackburn Rovers.

Clarke, 20, is now on to his third loan spell in the Championship since leaving Elland Road in July 2019, for a fee believed to be in the region of £10 million, plus add ons.

The young prospect broke through at the Yorkshire club making 24 appearances, scoring two and assisting two during the 18/19 season. He has subsequently failed to break in to the first team during his time with Spurs and also during loan spells at QPR and Leeds last season.
