VAR-LITE IS GIVEN BOOT BY CHAMP

CHAMPIONSHIP clubs have rejected the chance to bring in an off-shoot of VAR next season - with club chiefs fearing a backlash from supporters.
Football Video Support - a watered-down version of VAR currently being trialled in Italy’s Serie C - was demonstrated to clubs at the EFL’s annual meeting last month.
Designed to be used in competitions without multiple-camera coverage, FVS does not rely on an external VAR.
