Leaders bash the Canaries
Proud boss Vincent Kompany hailed a ‘complete performance' after his unstoppable Burnley troops marched on at the Championship summit by demolishing Norwich.
Anass Zaroury gave the Clarets an early lead before second half goals from Vitinho, with his first touch, and debutant Hjalmar Ekdal completed a comfortable 3-0 win at Carrow Road.
It moved Burnley seven points clear of second-placed Sheffield United, who drew 0-0 at Rotherham, and kept them 17 ahead of third-placed Middlesbrough, who beat Blackpool 3-0.
“We knew what to expect, but I thought it was a complete performance from the lads,” said Kompany. “The players have set the benchmark for what I want from them today – and we need to keep working hard in every game to get where we want to be.”
Luton, in fourth, beat Stoke 1-0.
