BURNLEY and Blackburn Rovers bring the curtain down on the Championship this afternoon until after the World Cup – and top spot is the prize for the winner.
Sheffield United moved to the summit by beating Cardiff 1-0 yesterday, but the East Lancashire derby will decide who heads into the winter break in pole position.
David Jones, who featured for both sides in his playing days, said: “The bigger picture means there’s probably more riding on this one than any of the derbies I played in. It’s a huge occasion.”
