James has eyes on a top perch

James Perch has admitted that he almost quit football last season after fracturing his skull – but the 36-year-old veteran is now targeting unfinished business with his home-town club.
The Mansfield-born defender missed out on a dream end to what had started as a nightmare 2021-22 campaign after he suffered his life-threatening injury in August as the team went on a 14-game winless run through to mid-October.
