Sheffield United march on
Red-hot Sheffield United extended their lead at the Championship summit to three points as Iliman Ndiaye and Oli McBurnie struck at Preston.
Ndiaye gave the Blades the lead five minutes before the break before McBurnie notched his fourth goal in five games from close range to wrap up the points with 15 minutes left.
United boss Paul Heckingbottom said: “We know we needed to be better in the second half and we were. We were strong in the end, it was a strong away performance.”
Second-placed Norwich were held to a 1-1 draw by Steve Bruce's West Brom, while managerless Huddersfield beat Cardiff 1-0.
