Sunderland are lining up vastly experienced boss Tony Mowbray to replace Stoke-bound Alex Neil.
Neil caused consternation in the north-east when he said he wanted to talk to the Potters about their vacant managerial position, caused by their decision to sack Michael O’Neill on Thursday.
