BENNETT IN BEECH’S THOUGHTS

CARLISLE boss Chris Beech is hoping to tie down defender Rhys Bennett to a new contract, with his short-term deal running out in January.
The 29-year-old has impressed since joining in November and Beech is keen for the former Rochdale and Peterborough man to extend his stay at Brunton Park.
“We want to try to get that sorted,” Beech said.
“He was the first player in my thoughts when I got this job over a year ago.
“There’s no disguising what we think, or what I think, of Rhys and what he thinks of us and me.”
