CHAMPIONSHIP clubs selling their grounds to their owners to get around Financial Fair Play rules has been a hot topic in recent times. But it now looks set to reach boiling point after events of the last few days. On Thursday, the EFL announced that Derby County had been charged with breaking spending regulations, which allow them to lose £39m over a three-year period.
At the crux of the Derby matter is the £80m sale of their stadium to owner Mel Morris, which allowed them to stay within the limits.
