Keogh axing shows it’s a ruthless game

RICHARD Keogh wasn’t sacked by Derby County because he went on a drunken joyride with two young teammates.
Richard Keogh was sacked by Derby County because he is 33, earns £25,000 a week and has such extensive damage to his knee that he may never be capable of playing at Championship level again.
Derby, naturally, claim otherwise. “The club will not tolerate any of its players or staff behaving in a manner which puts themselves, their colleagues, and members of the general public at risk of injury or worse, or which brings the club into disrepute,” said a statement.
