THEY say old dogs can’t learn new tricks, but Port Vale goalkeeper Scott Brown says he is gradually adapting to his manager’s philosophy of playing out from the back.
The 34-year-old was asked by John Askey to become more comfortable using his feet, laying the foundations for a possession- based system at Vale that is being increasingly implemented around the country.
And despite traditionally playing for sides who operate with a more direct style of play, Brown believes he is adjusting to his manager’s methods.
