FEJIRI Okenabirhie fears that recent high-profile instances of racism at football matches are in danger of kick-starting a devastating trickle-down effect.
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Danny Rose were subjected to abuse during England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro last month, while Juventus duo Moise Kean and Blaise Matuidi were targeted this week during their Serie A match against Cagliari.
And 23-year-old Shrewsbury forward Okenabirhie is concerned that it may just be the tip of the iceberg.
