WIGAN Athletic chairman David Sharpe will step down once the takeover of the club has been completed.
The Latics are due to be brought under the control of International Entertainment Corporation, a group based in Hong Kong, next week.
Sharpe took over the role from his grandfather Dave Whelan in 2015, becoming the youngest chairman in world football at the age of 23. The family is now selling their controlling stake in the club.
