CRUEL BLOW FOR CARDIFF’S OVERWORKED ICELANDER

IT WAS incredibly sad to see Aron Gunnarsson hobble off at Hull last weekend, his World Cup dreams all but crushed.
The 29-year-old says he is “choosing to be optimistic” following knee surgery on Tuesday, but with 41 days left until Iceland’s opener against Argentina it is difficult to envisage their skipper recovering in time.
