VILLA CUT LOSSES…

ASTON Villa have hit a rich vein of form on the pitch in recent weeks – and things aren’t looking as bleak off it.
The club’s owners, Dr Tony Xia’s Recon Group UK, made a loss of £14.5m for the 2016-17 season.
It is significantly less than the £80.7m deficit in Villa’s Premier League relegation campaign in 2015-16. That was their final campaign under previous owner Randy Lerner.
Their wage bill fell from £81.6m to £53.5m. Turnover was reduced from £108.8m to £73.8m as the club adapted to life in the second tier.
