Jimmy and Patrick had genuine class
IT HASN’T been the best of starts to the new year for football. Following on from the death of Cyrille Regis, the game has now lost both Jimmy Armfield and Patrick Cyrne. In their different ways, the latter pair both made a huge mark on the game.
While loyalty appears to have largely gone out of the window these days, Armfield was a one-club man with Blackpool, serving the Seasiders with distinction from 1954 to 1971.
