Five-star showing lifts spirits at the U’s

COLCHESTER United head coach John McGreal feels his side’s big win over Forest Green Rovers will give them a “shot in the arm” after they claimed their first victory of the season.
Goals from Kyel Reid and Frankie Kent put the U’s 2-0 up inside 21 minutes at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
And although Liam Noble quickly pulled a goal back for Rovers, further strikes in the second half from Sammie Szmodics, Kane Vincent-Young and substitute Courtney Senior, on his Colchester debut, rounded off a big win.
