Newport County’s boss Christian Fuchs took the positives out of being denied a first win as the Exiles were pegged back late on by Barrow.
The league’s bottom side remain five points from safety as they were held at home by the Bluebirds despite taking the lead twice.
Left-back Anthony Glennon curled in a sublime free-kick to put the hosts ahead in the 39th minute; however, Ben Whitfield fired Barrow level on the stroke of half-time.
